The points system
What actually decides your score
Four factors make up most of the result. We go through them one by one in the consultation and tell you which is worth your effort.
Age
Points peak between 20 and 29, then fall away gradually.
Education
Assessed through an ECA from an approved body, not from your Egyptian certificate directly.
Language
An IELTS or CELPIP score is the single factor you can improve most in a short time.
Experience
Years of work inside and outside Canada, provided they match the Canadian occupational classification.
Criteria and draw cut-offs move over time. The numbers are checked against your file during the consultation, not read from an old bulletin.

Common questions
The questions we get every time
What score do I need to apply?
There is no fixed number. The cut-off shifts with every draw depending on the pool and the draw type. In the consultation we work out your real score and compare it against the range of recent draws, so you can see for yourself whether you are close.
If my score is low, is the file closed?
No. Most improvable files improve on two factors: the language score and the credential assessment. In the consultation we tell you which factor is worth working on, how many points it would add, and which will make no difference.
How long does it take?
It varies by route, by the state of the file, and by the processing times published at the time. We give you the expected range for your specific case in the consultation, and we do not promise dates.
Do you guarantee approval?
No, and nobody can. The decision rests with the Canadian authorities. What we do guarantee is that your file is submitted complete and correct, and that you know your real chances before you pay application fees.
Do I need a language test before the consultation?
Not necessarily. If you have no result we estimate your level and run two scenarios: your current level and a target level, so you can see the difference before paying for the test.
